Rhyolyn: the name and the dancer

The name Rhyolyn, pronounced \RYE o lin\ (rhymes with violin), is a variant of rhyolite, a fine-grained intrusive igneous rock predominately composed of siclicate minerals. Rhyolite may also contain larger crystals in it's fine matrix (porphyritic rhyolite). Rhyolite forms when felsic (silicate rich magma) cools slowly underground (intrusive). Felsic magma is thick, viscous, and associated with violent Mount St. Helen's type eruptions.

Rhyolyn is a fusion bellydance instructor, performer, choreographer, and perpetual world dance student. Her passion for and study of movements arts allows her to create an ever evolving eclectic blend of world dance forms with a heavy bellydance infuence. Her current bellydance influences include: American Cabaret, American Tribal Style (ATS), Tribal Fusion, Classical Egyptian, and Folkloric. Non-Bellydance influences include Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Bhangra, Bollywood, Iyengra Yoga, and hula hoop as well as a smattering of Flamenco, African, and Hip hop.

Rhyolyn has been privaleged to study and perform with countless beautiful and talented dancers, but she would especially like to thank each of the following for playing a major roll in her dance education and personal journy.
